Twelve apartments in Penrith where every home has its own identity, while a shared architectural language keeps the building one community.

Most residential buildings are formed by repeating the same floor plate. At 22 Rodley Ave we wanted each home to have its own identity, so we break the repetition between levels to give every apartment its own character, while a common architectural language preserves a sense of community among residents.

The composition of the façade is an abstraction of a tree, and its materials, brick above all, draw on those that recur across Penrith so the building belongs to its neighbourhood.

The design balances the efficiency the client needed with the freshness and originality the area deserves. The compositional approach also reduces the building's apparent scale, creating movement and lightness and breaking the monotony of the typical block of flats.
